Hello people !! Happy new year to everybody. I hope you guys had a wonderful holiday. I'm really sorry I was unable to complete my last post. I have been so busy, I hardly have time to update my blog. Well I do have time now since I'm at home because of the strike on subsidy removal, so I can blog as much as I want to now...lol.
I have been watching movies since the strike began, and one movie that I have always love to watch is the BEST MAN. In the movie the groom found out that his best man who happened to be his best friend had slept with his bride back then while they were in college.
The anger he felt when he found out was so much that he could have killed his friend right there if not for the people around.
A few days ago, one of my friends called me and was reporting another of our friends to me. He told me that he caught this other friend exchanging number with his new girl. He was so mad at him that they got into a quarrel. It was then he now called to tell me he was going to destroy that guy and he would stop at nothing to achieve that, and that the particular guy was fond of sleeping with his friend's girls all the time. I tried to calm him down and told him not to do anything and that if his girl was really his, no amount of enticement from the other guy can snatch her from him.
This however got me thinking, why would you want to sleep with a girl that is going out with your friend? Its a common occurence these days with friends sleeping with the same girl. As far as your friend is dating a girl you ought to take your eyes off that girl no matter how beautiful or attractive she might be. Its a matter of discipline which must be strictly adhered to as far as the code of friendship is concerned. This brings me back to the girls who sleep with the boyfriend's friend. They make themselves look stupid and cheap, and as far as I'm concerned any girl of mine that sleeps with my friend is not worthy of been my girl. Period.
I remember a particular incident that happened back then in school. One of my friends was going out with this girl and they were so into each other that they were practically living together. However, this guy now went to do his industrial attachment and so was out of school for about six months. During this period his girl was all over me. Initially I didn't read any meaning to it, I just felt she was getting close to me because she was lonely. I checked on her when I could. But then she didn't read it that way. She wanted more from me. I didn't notice it but my other friends did and called my attention to it that the girl wanted to sleep with me. To cut long story short, we were at a party one day when she pretended to be drunk and her friends called me to take her home. I took her home that night but alas as soon as we got to her house she was all over me begging me to have sex with her and even tearing my clothes in the process. I almost gave in because I was high too and yes she was really attractive. However, I thought to myself what would happen if my friend found out. I know how painful it would be for him and how he would have felt betrayed by me. I resisted the temptation that day and left the girl. Needless to say she never spoke to me again.
The sad part of it is that people went to tell my friend that I had slept with his girl because they saw us leave the party together that night. You can imagine the bitterness he felt when he came back and heard all those stories. I told him the truth about what happened and even though he didn't believe me my conscience was clear. We still best of friends today and all parties involved are all married. My other friends all blame me for not going ahead to sleep with the girl that night saying it would not have been my fault since they were all witnesses to the fact that the girl was the one throwing herself at me. I told them that I was comfortable with my decision and would not throw away friendship for a few minutes of pleasure. Today my friend and I are still friends though we have never discussed that issue ever since but I know some other of our friends have told him the truth.
I believe in loyalty in friendship and that involves such acts as looking the other way as far as your friend's woman is concerned.
Tell me what you think.
